Leaving Certificate results

Congratulations to all our students who received their Leaving Certificate results yesterday. The results were extremely impressive. The headline numbers are as follows:

We had a 99% pass rate for the 377 examinations sat by the students this summer.
20% of the year gained 500 points or more. That means that one in five of the year achieved grades that place them in to top 9% of students countrywide.
Over 40% achieved 450 points or more. It is worth comparing this percentage with the national statistic of around 17% of students achieving such a points score and nearly 60% achieved 400 points or more - exactly the same percentage as last year. This is double the national average.
In Maths and English the results were again exceptional.
No student failed English or Maths at any level.
43% of our students sat Maths at Honours Level - the National percentage of students sitting Maths at this level is a mere 16%.
Of these 82% gained A - C grades with 56% scoring an A or a B grade.
In English 60% of the year sat the Honours paper with staggering 73% gaining an A or B grade and 97% gaining A - C.

Junior Certificate Results

INFORMATION - JC Results Available - 9th September 2009

Students attend School as normal in full school Uniform. They may bring a change of clothes with them. Students will have normal classes for the first 3 classes until 10.45am and will receive their results at 11.05am.

Students can phone home and have until 12.00pm (Noon) on the school premises to communicate results etc. At 12.00pm (Noon) students will be brought to the Leisureplex in Coolock for Bowling and Quasar. Students will return to School around 3.00pm to be collected by parents.

Each Student must bring €12.00 Euros and some spending money to cover the cost of the Leisureplex.

We strongly advise parents to pick up their children directly from School at 3.00pm.

Any student being picked up directly from the Leisureplex or getting off the bus early must have a valid note. The supervising teachers cannot be responsible for phoning parents who have forgotten notes.

Good Luck to all Students on the 9th!

At this time, I am sure you will all join me in wishing all the students every success in their pursuit of college places. I will mention the results again in my first newsletter of the year.
