Curriculum Content As it is an introductory course, it is similar to the Junior Cert syllabus, giving information about oneself, engaging in informal conversations and dealing with common tasks in restaurants, hotels, shops, train stations, etc. |

Approaches And Methodologies Classroom exercises will be geared to improve reading, writing, listening and speaking skills using authentic texts in a communicative manner.
Homework They will have to do exercises based on the topics covered in class, or learn some new vocabulary. At the end of the year they will do a project based on 2 topics of their choice related to Spanish geography, sport, company, artists,…

Approaches And Methodologies All exercises are geared towards mastering all four sections of the exam: reading, writing, speaking & listening
Homework They will do grammar-based exercises, write compositions, read texts and do the comprehension, learn vocabulary, transfer information.
Resources Leaving Certificate textbooks: Sigue, Meta, Al Tanto, Pasos, Ele; Magazines, newspapers, articles, videos and the Internet
Planning And Reporting Classes are planned at the beginning of the year. It is quite a challenging course, the students have to be brought up to a Higher Leaving Certificate standard in just 2 years. The Junior Certificate programme is broadly covered (as by the Department of Education) in 5th year and the Leaving Certificate course in 6th year.
5th Year: Specific communicative tasks is covered, enabling students to talk about themselves, their family, their hobboes and school life and routine.
