N. IRELAND YOUNG SCIENTIST COMPETITION (BELFAST)JUNE 2009 - SUTTON PARK SUCCESSES
Overall Winners, 1st Prize Junior Science, Innovation Award, Mining Engineering Award
Sutton Park Students had remarkable success at this year’s N. Ireland Young Scientist Competition which was held in the Odyssey Arena Belfast on June 18th.
Rebecca Kummert & Sile Stafford OVERALL WINNERS (4th Yr)

‘ Improving Mucus Detachment in Cystic Fibrosis' - Won the Overall Prize at the N.Ireland Young Scientist Competition. The girls also won the Innovation Award.
The girls receive £325 in prize money and sponsorship to attend the Big Bang Science Fair next March in Manchester. Congratulations!

Robert Flood & Stephen Palminteri 2nd Year - 1st Prize Junior Science & Mining Engineering Award

Robert Flood & Stephen Palminteri (2nd Year) entered their project - ' An investigation of shock absorbency in non-Newtonian fluids' having done further work on it since their BT Young Scientist success in January. The boys won 1st prize in the Junior Science section - £125 prize money and sponsorship to attend the Big Bang Science Fair in Manchester next March. They also won the Mining Engineering Award. Congratulations!
