Music

Philosophy

Music is a discipline that can transform lives; bringing confidence, focus and purpose, best friends and satisfaction; at its best music creates a community of joy and support and is a source of learning, comfort and inspiration.

The Music Department is a place where students are safe to be themselves, to express themselves, to accept others where they are, to imagine, to perform, to create.

The Music Department is a social space where students can find friendship and shared joy in creating performances and music together both during and outside class time.

The Music Department is a place that notices and grows talent and aims for excellence; within that aspiration it is most importantly a generous space where students are encouraged to celebrate the talents and achievements of others without losing any sense of their own personal journey or personal worth.
